My journey with books

            Books: A Mind transcending tool   

Boos are one of the most astounding inventions of mankind. Any technology invented, theories propounded or discoveries are all result of books   As said Books not only impart knowledge, wisdom and creativity; it also transcend mind. My personal experience before being an avid reader; I was callous, lethargic and imprudent guy. Reading books other than prescribed in syllabus was a whole new and never done activity for me. On my tenure with BrahMosAerospace (Missile Design and Development Company of India) I was exposed to a small but very valuable department which they used to call knowledge centre i.e the Library of BrahMos Aerospace. The three floor Library had Books from almost all genres such as Business, technology, politics, strategy, Science & engineering, fiction and non-fiction. For initial few months I was assigned to process books at BMKC (BrahMos Aerospace knowledge centre) so as to become familiar with their collection. For processing and cataloguing the books one is suppose to know the thought content of the book  and to know the thought content one is suppose to quickly skim up the main content; it was this habit that slowly and gradually turned me from a callous, casual reader to a more serious and voracious reader. And today I am so much into reading that I have my own personal collection of almost 50+ books and magazine and all these collection has nothing to do with my academics.  

After Reading almost daily on different genres I feel the difference in my knowledge, my communication skill and command over English language. Among all this news changes in me; the most intriguing one is my thought process; i.e. the way I used to conceive any idea earlier and the way I think of any situation now is completely different. I feel myself more enlighten.Rightly said book not only impart knowledge and wisdom rather it changes the way we think more precisely it changes the way we live. 

Lets understand the science behind how books trigger Imagination & Creativity 

Most often it is asked why reading when watching the same content in video format has an advantage. 

 Well..... The answer to this lies in Dr. Albert Einstein quote    

 "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."

Yes; you see according to me when you read read read and only read your brain takes effort to create picture of  whatever you are reading; this activity unlock the certain neurons of your brain which intends you to think and thereby you end up developing imaginative and creative thinking. When such picture which otherwise your brain would have created is already available in video format, the effort rendered by brain is restricted to consumption and comprehension of content. Hence video content is easy to consume and has an advantage over perilous reading. But when it comes to boosting imaginative/ creative thinking than reading has an edge.
